CPU Scrap and China: Import Rules and Enquiries
Many buyers ask about shipping CPU scrap to China. Mainland China has progressively restricted imports of solid waste, including most electronic scrap, so we are open about what is and is not possible.
Mainland China import restrictions
China has banned or tightly restricted the import of most solid waste, including electronic waste, and customs enforcement is strict. Material that does not meet the rules cannot be cleared, and shipments can be returned at the shipper's cost.
We therefore do not offer CPU scrap for import into mainland China unless the buyer can demonstrate a lawful import route and holds the required authorisations.
Hong Kong and other routes
Hong Kong SAR operates its own regime for waste imports and exports, separate from mainland China, and other destinations may be lawful for a given buyer. Buyers sometimes enquire from China on behalf of facilities in other countries; we review the final receiving facility, not just the enquiring office.
What we supply, where lawful
Four grades, sold by weight and described by form, inclusions and exclusions:
- Ceramic CPU scrap (whole ceramic-package processors)
- Gold-plated CPU pins (loose, separated from processors)
- Fiber CPU scrap (fiberglass-substrate processors)
- Mixed CPU scrap (blended lots, described per lot)

Send a quote request that names the receiving facility and the destination, and attach proof of the import authorisation if you hold it. We review the buyer and the route first. Submitting a request is not an order and does not approve any shipment.
Frequently asked questions
Can I buy CPU scrap from you for import into China?
Only where a lawful import route exists and is documented. Mainland China restricts solid-waste imports, so most requests cannot proceed.
What about Hong Kong?
Hong Kong SAR has a separate regime. We review the receiving facility and its authorisations case by case.
Will you ship if my agent says the paperwork is fine?
No. We review the documents and the final receiving facility ourselves before a quotation is approved.
